Each year we donate a portion of our investment company's profits.
2022 was an eventful but also challenging year: my son Aiden was born and my mother entered hospice due to her Alzheimer's. As I thought about what I wanted to do next in my career after I returned to California from Hong Kong I decided Laguna Coast Capital needed to focus on 2 unique goals:
- Provide a different kind of return profile for the long-term partners who invest with us. I did not want Laguna Coast Capital to be just another group that makes a lot of money when markets rise. Thus, we focus on outperforming for our investors in range bound (where markets actually tend to be most of the time) and falling markets - periods when our performance is more valuable to our clients.
- Do more than just "make rich people even richer". That is why I setup the Laguna Coast Foundation. Every year via the Laguna Coast Foundation we intend to donate a portion of our company's profits (not our investors' profits) to local and national causes supporting families and Alzheimer's research.
For over 20 years I have worked in derivative investments in both the U.S. and Asia. Now I find that having these 2 goals makes me even more thrilled and motivated to wake up every morning for the intellectual challenges (and daily grind) of global asset allocation.
Call me anytime to discuss.
